Hello At Last (Herrie 'Bok" R.) July 28, 2006
Dear batchmates,
This is the time of reckoning. As one of our gorgeous classmates told me" BOK pota magabungal tana eta mikit ikit" Dacal nong meco at dacal ko pang mamako....who else will have the gall to make taray to me but my good friend Johnna Libut.
Listening to her blurt those words authoritatively, as if I was reverted to the good old days when we used to toy around with Atching Let at the gate...remember??? ... I dawned upon your class President that indeed, it is time to move and take affirmative action.
Immediately I tried to scan the horizon, we are faced with 4 challenges:
1. Many have migrated to the US, Canada, or are based in other countries (UK, Singapore, Japan or Saudi, Dubai etc.,
2. Many have relocated to Resettlment areas or have gone out of Pampanga
3. Many are also busy...este super busy doing their daily toil
4. Some, thank God not that many anyway simply refuse to keep in touch.
Honestly, I've been quite busy too with work and my family. So I also had doubts that we could pull this off. I've been in touch with quite a few of our classmates here and abroad and to tell you frankly, I drool when I see banners announcing class reunions of other callsses. The icing was really when I accompanied my Mom in their yearly visit to classmates for their class 1949 reunion. Kung sila kaya....tayo pa?
Fortunately or is it Divine Providence my favorite highshool teacher Mr Allan Ko emailed me regarding his wish to see me and some of our classmates. So by walking the talk, I immediately contacted Atty Aselo & Johnna about this. Johnna suggested actually, violently suggested that this is the best timing to see all...at least a core group. I also contacted Cheryl so that other batchmates from section A could also make it. Analyn, Jean, Connie, Bong Cabalza
And it just kep coming....my friend Klea, my dear Rocelyn and my deer Noli from out of the blue remembered me... Bong Villafania made an egroups, Noli also made one this is aside from the one Bong Cabalza already made. This is one of the issues that we will settle on the 12th.
Atty Loi offered his resort named Greenhouse Resort Tagumpay Street, corner reichvil subd, Sinadalan, San Fernando to be the location of our meeting on the 12th from 9 am - 3:00 pm. Lunch & merienda will be served...pot luck tayo. Allan prefers native food. I forgot to aks him though if he likes palaka, camaro or balot. Yummmyum
Let us make this happen, not only do we owe it to our school, but also to ourselves...we were a great bunch then...let us see 25 years & 50 lbs later.
Let us all target our 25th Anniversary or 2009 as our grand reunion....
